Fender '65 Mustang Electric Guitar

This reissue`s has the highly collectable Fender custom color scheme and cosmetic options, as well as a heightened level of period correct detailing (body wood, logos, etc.). A real beauty! Features: Body: Poplar w/ Olympic White Finish Neck: Maple, "C" Shape,(Gloss Polyurethane Finish) Fingerboard: Rosewood (7.25" Radius/184 mm) No. of Frets: 22 Vintage Scale Length: 24" (610 mm) Width @ Nut: 1.625" (41 mm) Hardware: Chrome Machine Heads: Fender/Gotoh Vintage Style Tuning Machines with White Buttons Bridge: Floating Bridge with "Dynamic" Vibrato Tail-piece Pickguard: 4-Ply Pearloid Pickups: 2 Mustang Single-Coil Pickups (Neck & Bridge) Vintage Correct Headstock Logo Vintage Correct Bridge Plate Logo "F" stamped Neck Plate Fender/Gotoh Vintage Style Tuning Machines with White Buttons Classic Control Plate/Pickguard Gap ----------------------------------------------------- Mustang History: Fender introduced Mustang during August 1964. The Mustang model brought new improvements over its Musicmaster and Duosonic counterpart. The Mustang was designed by Leo Fender while he still owned the company. It was based on the Fender Duo-Sonic with the addition of a new bridge assembly, Dynamic Fender Vibrato tailpiece and tremolo arm. Tim Pershing: "The redesign and introduction of the Musicmaster and Duosonic coincided with the introduction of the Mustang (August 1964). I would say that, clearly, the Mustang inspired the redesign of the other student guitars, or the change in design. The earliest production Mustang neck date I`ve seen is JUL 64. The earliest production Musicmaster/Duo-sonic neck date is SEP 64." Like the Duo-Sonic, the Mustang was made available in short (22") 21 fret and long (24") 22 fret scale neck lengths. GG Jaguar writes "Fender was sold to CBS in January 1965. Therefore, there are pre-CBS Mustangs, specifically those made in 1964. In general, collectors consider Mustangs made through August 1965 to be "pre-CBS" because they had the same features as the earliest models. The features changed in September `65 and those would be considered CBS-era Mustangs." The Mustang never featured the traditional spaghetti logo, all examples from 1964 have the transition (macaroni?) Fender decal. The guitar was produced in colors: Red, White and Blu

Fender Mustang Bass Guitar

Fender Mustang Bass Guitar

A Reissue Of The Easiest-To-Play Fender Bass Ever Made! Fender's popular Mustang Bass guitar was introduced in 1964 as a cool short-scale alternative to its illustrious long-scale big brothers. This thoroughbred reissue captures the original instrument's feisty mid-60s vibe, and is perfect for players who dig a shorter scale (30) or who have smaller hands. Guitar players and younger musicians will find it especially comfortable to play! Details include a solid alder body, split single-coil pickup and a maple neck with a rosewood fingerboard, dot inlays and nickel/silver frets. The Fender Mustang`s short scale has a lot of advantages if you like bending, and like a little more trebly, throaty sound. Short scale also lets you do things you can`t do on a 34-inch scale. You can do riffing with guitar-like ease on this bass guitar, and it`s much easier to control your sound. String spacing is the same as a J-bass at the neck and just slightly narrower at the bridge. The Fender Mustang Bass single-coil split pickup just sings in such a special way; a truly pleasing, vintage-sounding tone. The Fender Mustang Bass suits surf-rock, country, garage, even blues, some jazz, any type of roots music. The Fender Mustang Bass delivers a wide range tone from its split single-coil pickup, which can sound thick and heavy, or bright and punchy. Some famous Mustang players… Bill Wyman of The Rolling Stones used Mustang basses in the late-1960s and early-1970s. Tina Weymouth of Talking Heads used a Mustang bass in the early days of the band. Denny Laine occasionally used one during his time with Wings, when lead singer Paul McCartney would switch from bass to piano or guitar. Chris Murphy of Sloan frequently uses a Mustang bass. Red Hot Chili Peppers bassist Flea learned how to play bass on a Mustang. Dee Dee Ramone played many shows with a Mustang bass. Holger Czukay of Can (band) played a Mustang bass for much of his time with the band. Simon Green, a.k.a. Bonobo, plays a Mustang bass with his touring band. Trevor Bolder of David Bowie and The Spiders from Mars used a Mustang Bass among many other basses. Alan Lancaster of Status Quo used Mustang in 60s and 70s. Paula Pierce of The Rage (later a founding member of The Pandoras), played a Mustang bass live and when recording from 1976 to 1978. You'll go to bed thinking about this bass and wake up thinking about this bass!
